There is loads to do in Newtonmore and the surrounding area especially if you like the outdoors:
The Wildcat Trail is a 6 mile track encircling the village and takes in some beautiful scenery and a variety of terrain.

There are loads of other off/on road cycling routes in the area as well as several bike repair and hire shops. The Cycle People
There are 20 Munros within a 20 mile radius including the fantastic Creag Meagaidh which the house is named after. (Creag Meagaidh means "Rock of the Boggy Place"!) It is also possible to walk from the front door to the top of at least 3 Munros. We have a wide variety of books and maps and can offer advice on routes.
The Cairngorm ski area is within a 30 minute drive. The Lecht and Nevis Range are both about 1 hour's drive away.
Newtonmore Golf Course is just round the corner.
Tennis courts and bowling green are even closer.
Canoeing or kayaking on the River Spey as well as water sports at Loch Insh and Loch Morlich.

For those wishing a more sedate holiday there are the Waltzing Waters, Clan Macpherson Museum, a variety of cafes and shops, and you can watch a shinty match most weekends.
