GREEN TOURISM

Creag Meagaidh is set up to be as evironmentally friendly as possible so that our guests can holiday with a green conscience.

Newtonmore is on the main train line and the Citylink bus stops right outside the house - there is so much to do in the immediate vicinity that it is possible to enjoy a relaxing break without bringing a car. 

Other green points include: 

  • Provision of recycling boxes for paper/glass/cardboard/plastic/tetrapaks
  • Compost bin for vegetable peelings/tea bags/eggshells etc
  • 'A' rated washing machine & tumble dryer
  • Provision of environmentally friendly laundry balls, washing up liquid and dishwasher powder and e-cloths
  • Using only environmentally friendly products for cleaning at changeover time
  • Low energy light bulbs wherever possible
  • Wood burning stove
  • We have several very good shops in Newtonmore and Kingussie so we would encourage our guest to shop locally wherever possible
